2003 and 2004 LOHUMC Financial Audit

04.04.05

TO:   Finance Committee, Church Leadership and Membership
FROM:   Jan S., Volunteer Auditor
SUBJECT:   2003 and 2004 Financial Audit
DATE:   April 4, 2005

I have audited the records and the financial reports of Light of Hope United Methodist Church of Chandler dated 12/31/2003 and 12/31/2004. While my audit was limited to testing the transactions and balances and would not necessarily disclose all errors, I found no evidence of significant errors or omissions. In my opinion, the financial reports mentioned above are fairly stated.

I wish to commend the treasurer and financial secretary for their fine work during the past years. On behalf of the congregation, I thank them for the gift of their time and talent.

Vehicle Donations

10.01.03

The Desert Southwest United Methodist Foundation (DSUMF) is “Pilot Testing” a Vehicle Donation Program. Through our agent, DSUMF will pick up the vehicle, issue a dated receipt and proper documentation for your tax records, transfer title, transport and sell or salvage your vehicle. DSUMF will distribute 60% of the proceeds realized from your donated vehicle to Light of Hope. The remaining 40% will help fund the educational services that are provided free of charge by DSUMF to all Agencies, Boards and Churches of the Desert Southwest Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.

If you have a car, boat, truck, plane, motorcycle, golf cart, recreational vehicle of any type in any condition that you no longer want or need, then all you need to do is:

  1. Call 602-798-8237. Please tell them that you'd like to donate a vehicle and for our church, Light of Hope UMC, to benefit. They will ask you a couple of questions about the vehicle.

  2. Then, you will have to call 602-252-1360. You will be asked for your name, address, phone number, year, make and model of the vehicle you wish to donate. The agent will schedule a convenient time for the pick up.

  3. When the tow truck arrives, you will give them the vehicle, the keys, and the notarized title. The driver will give you a receipt.

And that's it!  Thank you for considering Light of Hope as the recipient of your donated vehicle!
