| The Igniting Ministry office at
United Methodist
Communications is pleased to recognize Light of Hope
United Methodist Church as an official “Welcoming
Congregation” for 2005! Our denomination recognizes
hospitality as a vital ministry. Embracing newcomers and
providing opportunities for discipleship in our
congregations is a lifestyle. In
addition to the plaque, we have placed a
special designation next to your church’s listing on the
Find-A-Church database.
|
 |
To see your listing, go to the
United Methodist
Communications website and key in your ZIP code at the
appropriate place.
We hope you will continue to participate in the ongoing award
process during the coming years. Upon renewal of each year’s
form, we will send you an additional seal for your plaque, as
well as an additional designation on the Web site. We’d love to
eventually see you with a “full plaque.”
On behalf of the entire Igniting Ministry team, we thank you for
all that you do to ensure that newcomers know the people of
The
United Methodist Church have open hearts, open minds and open
doors.
| Sincerely,
Royya James

| I just received
the letter announcing that your church is being
recognized as on an official "Welcoming
Congregation" by
Igniting Ministry. Congratulations! I
commend you for the good work you are doing to
reach out to people in the Chandler area.
Your church will be the only (first!)
congregation in our conference to receive this
designation, so you have provided important
leadership. Your efforts at Christian
hospitality are bearing fruit.
May God continue to work in and
through you to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to people in
your area. |

Official Welcoming Congregation! |
10.03.2005 |
As you may have read, we
have just been certified as a "Welcoming Congregation"
by the communications branch of the United Methodist Church.
Not only that, but we are the very first church in all of
Arizona to receive
that designation!
I am thankful for everyone in our church that welcomes new
visitors and helps to make our worship service hospitable
and especially for those who invite friends to church.
I want to extend special thanks to our
webmaster who not only keeps our web site up to date, but
discovered the certification opportunity in August. [more...] |
